Welcome to the 2011 Navajo County Fair!
The Navajo County Fair, Inc. will be celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Navajo County Fair & Rodeo. The first Navajo County Fair was held in Taylor in 1926. Back in the 1930s the County Supervisors decided to move the county fair to Holbrook due to it being the county seat and its central location in the county. The fairgrounds and other facilities were built as a permanent location for the county fair and other events. Since that time there has never been a year without a fair.
There have been a few changes. The Navajo County Fair and Fairgrounds are now supported by the Navajo County Board of Supervisors, maintained by the Navajo County Buildings & Grounds department and controlled by the Navajo County Fair, Inc. It is the 15-member board of directors of Navajo County Fair, Inc and a core of volunteers and sponsors who make the Navajo County Fair a success.
Navajo County Fair, Inc. takes great pride in maintaining a traditional down home county fair and it is their hope that everyone in Navajo County will come and enjoy the food, fun, entertainment, exhibits and carnival, along with new events.
This year's carnival is the largest ever set up in Navajo County. This year's entertainment will include: the Rodeo, Demolition Derby, Jr. Miss Pageant, Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Ranch Rodeo, Working Cow Horse Competition, Open Class Exhibits and Demonstrations, Jr. Livestock Show and Auction, 4-H Horse Show, Small Stock Show and Exhibits, Carnival, Food Booths, Vendors, Western Express Railroad (ride from one end of the fairgrounds to the other), The Rhinestone Roper, Sebastian Sidi "Piano Artist", Matt Sorensen "Spray Can Artist", Amazing Arthur "Comedy Magician & YoYo Artist", Poppin Penelope "Stilt Walker, Balloon Artist" along with much, much more.
